Why Be Moral? Part 2

Why Be Moral?

We must act in a moral manner because this is an orderly world made by an orderly God. This world was created in a most orderly fashion, down to the smallest details. Our God is a God of the details. This planet and all of nature is fine-tuned down to the smallest little detail. It is designed to work together in an orderly fashion. This world was once perfect. The world is no longer perfect since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. It is now marred by sin and corruption. There is now sickness, disease, decay and death in the world. However, even with the sin and corruption the world still displays the wonder, glory and goodness of God. There is still much left that is good. The basic design of God's creation is still there, and it is still good. Because of God's perfection, this world can still be redeemed and made perfect once again. Until the time of the redemption of the world (the new heavens and earth), God has instituted laws to govern us here on this earth while we are still in redemptive time. He has provided the means to live morally until the ultimate redemption of both the world and our bodies. Our bodies will someday become glorified and incorruptible in Christ Jesus. We are made to last forever. We will either live in eternal glory or eternal destruction. The choice is ours, if we want to accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, given to redeem us. The only book we need to understand the mind and moral perfection of God is the Bible. In the Bible we find the answer to everything we need. It tells us how to live morally and how to receive redemption. It tells us about our past, present and future. Through the lens of the Bible many other books have been written about morality. The Bible is our moral compass and it informs our Christian worldview. The Christian worldview is a Biblical worldview. God has given us everything we need to know within one book, the awesome and amazing Word of God. We need to be moral because God is morally perfect and has created us in His image to be morally perfect also. While we are still under the curse of sin He has given us everything we need to aim for moral perfection, the Holy Spirit within us and His holy Word.
