Fountains of Living Water

John 7:37-38

The Promise of the Holy Spirit

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

     The Holy Spirit is LIFE to us. He's as necessary to us spiritually as the air we breathe and the blood running through our veins. We cannot neglect Him. Without Him we're like a like a lamp that's unplugged. He revives us and brings us back to life.  He restores our souls.

Psalm 23:1-3

The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

     We can lift our heads to heaven and deeply breath in the Spirit of God, as He pours out His Spirit on all flesh. It's now the time. The Holy Spirit is now being poured out on all flesh.

Joel 2:28

God’s Spirit Poured Out

 “And it shall come to pass afterward
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your old men shall dream dreams,
Your young men shall see visions.

     We can pray everyday for God to rain His Spirit down on us, and fill us fuller with the Spirit than ever before. We can pray for Him to give us the Spirit without measure.

John 3:34

(John the Baptist said:) "For He (Jesus) whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure."

Ephesians 5:18

(Paul said:) "And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,"

     The Holy Spirit washes over us, cleansing us and making us feel fresh and clean. He's a breath of fresh air, literally. We must ask God to breathe on us. He gave us life by breathing life into our lungs.

Genesis 2:7

"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being."

     Jesus breathed on the disciples in order for them to receive the Holy Spirit.

John 20:21-22

So Jesus said to them (the disciples) again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit."

     Holy Spirit, please come rain down on us, fill us and revive us today in Jesus' name!
