The Narrow Way
Matthew 7:13-14
The Narrow Way
(Jesus said) “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."
Jesus is the narrow way. There is no other way.
Christianity is paradoxically both “wide” and “narrow”. Anyone can be saved, but they can only be saved one way.
Wide:
John 3:16- “Whoever” believes will have eternal life.
1 Timothy 2:4- God desires “all” men to be saved.
2 Peter 3:9- God doesn't want “anyone” to perish and wants “all” to be saved.
1 John 2:2- Jesus was the propitiation for the sins of the “entire world”.
Narrow:
John 14:6- Jesus said “no one” comes to the Father but through Him.
Acts 4:12. Jesus said there is salvation in “no other” but Him.
1 Timothy 2:5. There is “only one” Mediator between God and men, Christ Jesus.
Acts 2:38. “Everyone” must repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus.
1 John 2:23. “Whoever” denies the Son does not have the Father.
John 14:1-6
The Way, the Truth, and the Life
(Jesus said) “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
